New Zealand Fundraising runs packaged colour fun runs for schools, with powder, prizes and a student profile site included. Raised gives you sponsorship pages for a fun run or colour run you run yourself. Here is how the money works out.
Neither option costs anything up front. The difference is how much of each donation reaches the school.
A packaged colour run arrives in a box. Running your own takes a little more organising and leaves far more money at school.
Each student gets their own page, link and QR code to share with family and friends.
Teams mode puts every class on a live leaderboard, which does the job of a prize chart for free.
A colour run template for your school's page, with your goal, story and colours.
Donations are paid out to your Stripe account within a few business days, not after the event.
Not included. Schools buy powder from a party or events supplier and choose their own class rewards.
100 grams of colour powder and UV400 sunglasses for each student, plus coordinator kits.
Students can choose a prize once they raise $10, and earn extra prize credit online. Families can choose a charity instead.
Online profiles on the company's own site, plus a paper sponsorship booklet.
A dedicated coach to help the school run the event.
The cost of the programme comes out of the money raised, so every extra dollar raised also costs the school 40 cents plus GST.
If your school is happy to buy its own powder and run the day with parent helpers, running it on Raised keeps the money at school.
On a $20,000 colour run, a 60% share leaves the school $12,000. On Raised the school receives the full $20,000, and the platform fee is paid by supporters by default.
Teams mode puts every class on a leaderboard. A pizza lunch for the top class costs a fraction of a prize per student.
Watch every class and student total update as sponsorship comes in, and share the leaderboard in the newsletter.
No minimum student numbers. Use the same setup for a fun run, walk-a-thon, read-a-thon or maths-a-thon.
New Zealand Fundraising's colour fun run and standard fun run pages list the school's profit as 60% and the cost as 40% + GST, which covers everything included in the programme. The 60% figure assumes the school can claim back the GST on the invoice.
School Fun Run's New Zealand website now redirects to New Zealand Fundraising's student profile site, so schools that used School Fun Run in the past will find the same programme there.
A packaged programme suits a school with no volunteers to spare. If you have a few parents for the colour stations, running your own colour run on Raised means the school keeps the money that would have paid for the programme.
