Dunedin Skate-a-thon 2026

STORY

Support Our Young Skaters in the Inaugural Dunedin Skate-a-thon! 🛹✨

Help our kids build new skills, gain confidence, and raise funds for a new Skate School Trailer!

WHAT IS THE SKATE-A-THON?

The Dunedin Skate-a-thon is a 6-week skill-building and fundraising program running from Sunday, 18th October to Sunday, 22nd November.

Over six weeks, skaters of all ages and abilities—from complete beginners learning to balance, to kids landing their first kickflips—are committing to learning and landing 6 new tricks!

Each participant receives a sticker book and earns a sticker for every trick completed along their journey.

WHY WE NEED YOUR SUPPORT

100% of the funds raised from this campaign will go directly toward purchasing a dedicated Dunedin Skate School Trailer.

Right now, bringing skate programs, mobile obstacles, safety gear, and maintenance equipment around Dunedin is a big challenge. Having our own custom trailer will allow us to:

• Transport ramps, rails, and obstacles anywhere in the city.

• Bring gear and helmets to children who don't have their own.

• Run skate sessions and community workshops right in your neighborhood!

HOW THE TRICK-BASED DONATIONS WORK

Supporting a skater is simple and fun!

• Back a Skater: Choose a participant to support and pledge a contribution (or donate directly to the main campaign!).

• Multiples of Six: Since our skaters are aiming for 6 tricks, pledges work in multiples of six (e.g., $2, $3 or $5 per trick landed).

• Achievable Goals: Don't worry—6 tricks is very achievable! Even if a participant doesn’t land 6 distinct tricks, our coaches will link their mastered moves into a 6-step trick routine, ensuring every effort counts.

CELEBRATING HARD WORK & PRIZES

This event isn't about being the best—it's about progress, effort, and having fun. Thanks to our awesome sponsors at Pavement and local brands, we will be awarding prizes at our final wrap-up session on Sunday, 22nd November at Fairfield Community Hall for:

🏆 Most Money Raised

📈 Most Improved Skater

⭐ Most Consistent Skater

🛹 Most Tricks Completed (Beginner, Moderate & Advanced categories)
