Choose Your Own Adventure 2026

As part of Villa Maria College's annual fundraiser for Takuilau College in Tonga, we're inviting students and whānau to choose their own fundraising adventure and collect funds to support the ongoing development of our sibling College in Tonga.

We are encouraging students to choose the challenge that best suits them in the hope that each student can contribute $30 towards our annual appeal:

Stop It - Challenge yourself to give up something you enjoy or rely on for a day, a week, or even the entire appeal period. Whether it's your cell phone, social media, chocolate, energy drinks, gaming, takeaway food, or another daily habit, take a break and see how you cope without it. Ask friends and whānau to sponsor your commitment and support you as you stick to your challenge. Not only will you raise funds for Takuilau College, but you'll also build self-discipline, resilience, and a greater appreciation for the things we often take for granted.

Do It - Move beyond your usual routine by dedicating time to a hobby or learning something new. Read a book, crochet a blanket, practise an instrument, learn a new skill, create art, or complete a personal project. Set yourself a goal, seek sponsorship, and turn your time and talents into support for Takuilau College.

Sweat It - Push your limits with a fitness challenge. Complete workouts, tackle a sports challenge, or test your endurance while making a difference. Walk, run, cycle, swim, dance, or simply move more each day while raising funds for a great cause. Perhaps students can set a goal of running 100km over 30 days, or maybe walk 50km, the possibilities are endless.

Live It - Make a difference in your community by offering a service and donating your earnings to the appeal. Mow a neighbour's lawn, weed a garden, wash cars, walk dogs, babysit, or help with odd jobs around your neighbourhood. Use your time and talents to serve others while raising funds for Takuilau College.

No matter which adventure you choose, every effort and every dollar raised will support Takuilau College and strengthen the special connection between our school communities.
