Help Me Make a Difference for Animals in North Sumatra

This October, I'll be travelling to North Sumatra as part of the Mate's Gift Fundraising Journey.

Animal welfare has always been a cause close to my heart, and this is an opportunity to make a real, lasting difference for animals and the communities that care for them.

I am personally covering the cost of my flights and all of my travel expenses. Every dollar donated through this fundraiser will go directly to supporting Mate's Gift projects—it does not fund my trip.

Mate's Gift is a Melbourne-based grassroots animal welfare organisation established in honour of a very special dog named Mate. Working alongside trusted local rescuers, veterinarians and community leaders, the organisation delivers practical, sustainable programs that improve the lives of street and owned animals while supporting the communities they live in.

As part of this journey, we'll be supporting a range of ongoing projects across North Sumatra, including:

🐾 Sterilisation clinics in remote villages to reduce suffering and prevent unwanted litters of dogs and cats.

🐾 Parasite treatment programs, providing flea, tick and worming treatments for animals that would otherwise go without even the most basic veterinary care.

🐾 Animal welfare education for children, helping the next generation learn kindness, compassion and responsible care for dogs and cats.

🐘 The Elephant Grass Project, which helps provide a sustainable food source for local elephants while creating employment opportunities for local families and supporting ethical elephant care.

🐶 Support for local rescuers and shelters, providing much-needed resources to the incredible people who dedicate their lives to helping vulnerable animals despite having very limited resources.

This is not a commercial tour or a luxury holiday. Every participant commits to fundraising so that Mate's Gift can continue delivering meaningful, long-term support well beyond our visit.
